The Goalkeeper’s Promise
I promise to be ready at kickoff. If I am not sweating, I am not ready.
I promise to communicate without fail, alerting my teammates about time and space. I endeavor to be a leader from the first whistle to game’s end.
I promise to make wise and decisive distribution choices because I am the start of the offense when the ball’s in my hands.
I promise to come off my line with confidence, controlling my box with determination and grit.
I promise to quickly forget a mistake, holding onto a misstep will only make the next opportunity that much tougher.
I promise to be in the best position to prevent goal-scoring chances, cutting the angle to make the goal smaller is the best course of action.
Until next time,
Dan Naden
